Course description

The course introduces basic concepts of language and web technologies to students and is intended for study programs related to humanities.

The competences that are acquired during the course are:

  • basic understanding of information theory
  • knowledge of open source language corpora and their importance
  • understanding corpus analysis
  • basic understanding of speech technologies
  • understanding of the internal structure of web documents and data formats
  • understanding of basics of markup languages
  • capability of basic web-page design
