During graduate and mastership study his research interest was primarily focused on the thematic areas of computer graphics and optical pattern recognition. During mastership study he developed a system for optical reading of rotary electricity meters. He is a member of Slovenian Pattern Recognition Society. From late 1999 his interest is focused on combinatorial optimizations. He defended his Ph.D. thesis related to this area in 2002. In this time frame he developed an advanced data acquisition and control system ComLab-USB under the Leonardo da Vinci project ComLab. Under the project’s sequel, he developed an eProDas platform as a basis for several control and measurement devices.
